The Kirkwood Judo Club
is offering a new class entitled
Beginning Judo for Adults
|
Judo is a
martial art and philosophy of life that originated in Japan,
but is popular around the world today. This class will teach
participants the fundamentals of Judo technique, including
learning to fall properly, elementary throwing and pinning
techniques, as well as beginning choking and arm lock
techniques. The class will also cover the basic history and
philosophy of Judo. By the end of the course, students
should have learned the basics of Kodokan Judo, and will be
able to carry on what they have learned in more advanced
courses and in their lives. |
|
WHO MAY
PARTICIPATE?
The class is open
to anyone 14 years or older (for younger kids click
here),
who are in reasonably good health, and are interested in
having fun while learning a dynamic Martial Art which is
widely used throughout the world for self-defense,
conditioning, and competition. This is an entry level
class, but focused on getting participants ready for the
regular classes in the shortest possible time.. |
|
ADDED BENEFIT
For those of you
interested in improving your overall fitness level, this
class offers an excellent opportunity to do so. It is also
a great way to "Jump Start" a weight loss program.
Cardiovascular conditioning has always been a big part of
the program, at the KJC, and this entry level class will
give you a chance to get those benefits outside of the
"rough and tumble" environment of the more competition
oriented Judo Class. |
